| Welcome
to the website of Giesbers MX Training.
THE site for MX
training, for young and old!
My name is Leon
Giesbers, born at September 8, 1973. At the age
of five I started with motocross. At the age of
ten I started to compete in races. Starting from
the age of sixteen, I also competed in the
European Championships and at the age of
eighteen I joined the World Championship Grand
Prix circus. At that point in my career I became
a professional MX rider. At the moment I arrange
MX training sessions for the young and old, on
behalf of the
F.I.M. and the
K.N.M.V., the
Dutch MX Association, as well as
personal training sessions.
During my active
MX career I was Dutch Champion during six
seasons, including two youth titles. During this
period I also won the Dutch Grand Prix 500cc in
1996 at Lierop. Beside this I also was a regular
member of the Dutch team for the Motocross Des
Nations.
In the 2000 season
I had a big crash during the Grand Prix of
Spain, in which I was injured very badly. After
numerous surgical operations I did try to return
on the highest level up to the end of 2002. My
injury was of such a kind that this appeared to
be impossible.
During 2002 I
received an offer from the F.I.M., through Mr.
Dorna. I decided to enter this new direction
into Motocross. The F.I.M. asked me to arrange
MX training sessions worldwide.
In the year 2003 I
have become national coach for the Royal Dutch
Motorriders Association (K.N.M.V.). Beside this I also
accompany the national selection in the 65cc, 85cc and
MX2 classes. This is based on the
youth-plan of the
K.N.M.V..
Leon has worked
with this plan for several years now and all the
hard working has paid off in 2008. Leon and the
KNMV won a World title in the 85 class, 2
European titles (65 & 85) and two vice junior
world titles.
I would like to
call your special attention to the pages under
training camp.
I arrange training camps on a regular basis (both
nationally and internationally based), for both
young and old riders. My experiences tell me
that just after the start of the registration
period, these sessions are fully booked. So be
quick!
Beside
this I also give personal training sessions, and
arrange training for groups of riders. See also
training.
This leaves me
with the wish for you, to enjoy reading these
pages. I would be pleased to meet you at
motocross tracks around the world!
